Things to consider:

There is one gender-neutral bathroom onsite.
Most events have to start after 10AM and end before 10 PM. MOVES may not be able to support late night parties and events. MOVES will still accept proposals for late night parties, but please allow us about one week to let you know if we can accommodate your event.
Alcohol can be distributed for free to adults over age 21; alcohol cannot be sold at any time. Alcohol should not be distributed in excess, as this space is not a bar or lounge. MOVES can decide at any time to end the distribution of alcohol during events, especially if it creates a safety issue.
For all ticketed events (and for some not-for-profit events), we charge a sliding scale booking fee. Organizers can opt to either pay a flat hourly rate or to split a percentage of fees made at the door.
MOVES is run by volunteers. There is no full-time staff. So, we are more likely to accommodate events that happen during the late afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
We may not be able to accept every proposal due to our limited time, space, and resources.
Racism, anti-blackness, sexism, cissexism, transphobia, fatphobia, and non-consensual touching are NOT allowed at any time ever. Any event that promotes hatred and/or exclusion of any kind will not be considered.
Priority booking goes to those who are: Black, transgender, nonbinary, and/or native to West Philadelphia. Please note in the proposal if any of these identities relate to you.
Unfortunately, the space is not (yet) accessible by wheelchair. There is one stair to enter the building. MOVES is currently seeking donations to provide a ramp. Please let us know any resources that may be willing to provide a ramp.
We ask that all events list MOVES on its flyer and tag MOVES on social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter).
